Anthropic launched the Claude Marketplace on 23 September 2026, putting more than 2,000 connectors and plugins in one place instead of leaving every team to find them separately. Alongside the connectors sit Claude-powered products from companies like Cursor and Snowflake, and a roster of consulting partners for the rollout work. If you already run Claude or Claude Code anywhere in your business, this changes where your next integration comes from.
What Is the Claude Marketplace?#
It's a directory built around three groups of listings. Anthropic organized what already plugs into Claude and put it behind one search bar at claude.com/marketplace:
- Connectors and plugins built on the Model Context Protocol and Agent Skills, over 2,000 at launch, with Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion, and Salesforce named as launch partners
- Claude-powered agents and products from companies including CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, Legora, Lovable, and Snowflake
- Consulting and systems-integration partners (Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte) for teams that want someone else running point on setup
Anthropic says teams can apply a portion of their committed Anthropic spend toward whatever they pick up here, which is a procurement change as much as a product one. This follows Anthropic's Claude Docs and Slides merge and its embedded AI evaluators from earlier this month, both aimed at the same thing: making Claude harder to leave once it's wired into your stack.
Does This Replace a Custom Automation Build?#
For some of what agencies get paid to do, yes. If the job is Claude reading your Notion workspace, pulling records from Salesforce, or checking Atlassian tickets, that's a listed connector now. It's a checkbox today. Not a project.
For most of what we actually get hired to build, no. A marketplace connector has to work the same way for every buyer, which means it's built to the most generic shape of that integration. The moment you need something specific, that changes. Say a WhatsApp flow that checks stock before it replies, or a retry rule that runs before the model call instead of after, so a timeout doesn't burn a credit and still drop the lead. Nobody's listing a connector for logic that specific, because it isn't generic enough to sell twice.
If your stack is five or six mainstream tools and nothing else, this launch probably cuts your integration bill. If any part of your automation is specific to how you actually run the business, it doesn't touch that part.
The Honest Trade-Offs#
The upside is real. Less custom glue code for the standard connections, and a faster path into a Claude-powered product like Cursor or Harvey without a procurement fight first. Meta made a similar enterprise play with its own agent platform days earlier, so the direction here isn't unique to Anthropic.
The downside is just as real, and less talked about. A generic connector is generic on purpose. It's built to the lowest common need across every buyer, not to your workflow. We don't yet know how Anthropic vets what gets listed, or what happens when a connector breaks mid-flow for a client who didn't build it and can't patch it themselves. That's the part I'd want answered before routing anything mission-critical through a listing I don't control.
How We've Already Adjusted Our Builds#
We build WhatsApp and CRM automation for GCC and Indian SMBs. The week this launched, we went through every client integration on our books and split it two ways: what a marketplace connector could now handle outright, and what still needs a purpose-built workflow.
For a wealth-advisory client, we run WhatsApp, IVR, and CRM through one self-hosted n8n layer, because the sequencing between those three channels is specific to how that business actually books a client meeting. That didn't become a marketplace connector's job just because the marketplace opened. Separately, we already run Claude Code as the backbone of a standing AI-operations retainer for a crypto-trading platform client, so checking a marketplace built around the same company's tooling was worth doing the week it launched, not months into next quarter.
What I'd Tell a Client Asking About This#
Look at what you're paying someone to connect by hand right now. Notion, Salesforce, Google Workspace, anything mainstream. If that's most of your automation spend, check the Claude Marketplace listing before you renew that contract. If your automation is more particular than that, a specific flow, a scoring rule, anything that took a developer more than an afternoon the first time, this launch changes nothing for you this week.
If you're not sure which bucket you're in, send me what you're running and I'll tell you straight. Takes two minutes, and you don't have to buy anything. [cal.com/webepex/growth-review]
